I had a case that was from about 4 years ago for driving under a DUI suspended license. Recently hired Dan for a probation violation. His communication was as great as his professionalism. WORKING WITH DANIEL TO PROTECT A TRULY INNOCENT DEFENDANT WAS ONE OF THE MOST REWARDING EXPERIENCES
I worked with Attorney Daniel McGarrigle in my role as a forensic psychologist expert witness on one of the most difficult kinds of criminal cases, a coerced false confession case. The defendant was a young black man with a learning disability from a middle class family, who was picked up as a suspect while wearing a “hoodie,” forced into signing a false confession by police, and subsequently tried in front of an all white jury. Luckily the family had retained Daniel to defend their falsely accused son. Despite the near impossibility of overcoming the police testimony, a signed confession, and a signed Miranda rights waiver, Daniel McGarrigle won the case with a unanimous jury acquittal. I realized during the trial that in these types of cases the best attorneys are not from the biggest law firms, but the ones who truly understand “the system” such as cross-examining about police procedures, countering prosecutorial tactics, and demonstrating trial expertise to the trial judge and jury. Working with Daniel to protect a truly innocent defendant was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

DAN CAME THROUGH…AGAINST ALL ODDS.
Many of you may not remember Stan Musial. He was a baseball player back in the 40s. But Stan always came through in clutch situations getting the nickname Stan the man. Recently I got into some trouble with my Megan’s law restrictions. Needless to say I was facing some time or many more years of probation. Dan came through in the end, having Defending me against all odds Dan made the worst situation into something him and I never discussed. I got no time and little probation. Finding yourself on the wrong side of the law can be a very scary experience. Daniel made the process clear and easy to understand. There was an incident that occurred during a trial date, the plaintiff attempted to harass me and Daniel intervened making it clear that the Attorney/ Client relationship was one of genuine concern for the welfare of his client! Daniel was able to see through the lies that were being told by plaintiff and used his defensive skills to expedite the case and get the charges dismissed.
